As of January 1st 2021, Polestar Capital will administrate the National Heating Fund. It will do so in partnership with Zanders. Polestar Capital’s main role in this capacity will be to evaluate applications for funding and grant loans from the fund.
This assignment will enable Polestar Capital to broaden its activities: it will now extend loans to private individuals, owner associations and schools – and not only companies. It will also allow Polestar Capital to increase the scope of its sustainability efforts.
The NWF provides low-interest, long-term funding to assist homeowners, owner associations and schools in implementing energy-saving measures. Currently, the fund is financed by the central government, Rabobank, ASN Bank, ING, the [MS2] Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) and the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The fund is worth approximately €1.2 billion, half of which has already been invested. The NWF is a revolving fund. The earned interest and repayments will be used to fund new loans to make even more real estate sustainable.
We are looking forward to funding many sustainable projects for the NWF in the coming years!
